About me
I have over seventeen years experience as a counsellor and psychotherapist working with adults and young people in a number of settings including the voluntary sector, schools, GP surgery and private practice.
I see private clients in Lewes and I also offer supervision.
Integrative Arts Psychotherapy
Having trained and practiced as a counsellor for a number of years, I became interested in using creative ways of working with clients so I embarked on my Integrative Arts Psychotherapy training, qualifying with an MA in 2005.
I aim to work with clients in whatever way best meets their needs and for some people, traditional 'talking therapy' works best for them.
However, if clients feel willing to try exploring an issue in a creative way, I might suggest using image, paint, drawing, clay or sand-tray. I have often seen how this way of working can open up new perspectives and lead to deeper insight - even for clients who would say they 'can't draw' or are 'not creative'.
It is exciting to see how discovering and developing your own inner creativity can be a path to change - and you really don't need to be able to paint!
